For Dissident II, we collaborated with powerhouse athletes, Loïc Bruni and Finn Iles, to design a helmet that would meet the highest demands of downhill mountain bike racing, in terms of confidence, a modern-styled fit, and breathability.With five strategically placed EPS foam inserts, we’re able to tune for higher and lower density foam based on where it is being configured inside the helmet—allowing us to maintain a light weight and still manage energy. The use of a softer foam density allows more energy to be absorbed in an impact, transferring less to the rider. Dissident II also provides added confidence through its Mips Evolve Solution—that helps to redirect rotational movement away from the head. In this Evolve Solution, we utilized fabric pocket attachments inside, reducing creakiness.Remaining cool is more than a state of mind, and it’s hard to keep your composure when things get hot—specially when your head feels like its in a sauna. That’s why instead of focusing on more vents, we focused on better vents. MET Miles MIPS is a touring helmet with road spirit. It has a comfortable shape and plenty of vents to enhance air flow. The MET Manta MIPS defines the MET aesthetic with its highly contemporary design and aerodynamic engineering. In the helmet world, there's an unwritten rule that many designs seem to follow: aerodynamics, weight, aesthetics, and ventilation—pick two, there's your helmet. In our typical fashion, however, we don't follow these norms—we innovate. And it's precisely this mentality that led us to the Airnet with MIPS—patented protection against "rotational violence" caused by angled impacts. Loosely based upon the leather "hairnets" that cyclists used to wear before protection was a priority, we took their ventilation and classic style and incorporated them into a modern helmet design that combines all of the above features. Although we had the hairnet shape in mind during the design phase, we started by looking at the category leader in aerodynamic road helmets, our S-Works Evade, to see if we could make a classic style that wasn't only aesthetically pleasing, but also helped in the aero department. What we came up with is our third fastest helmet, behind the TT and Evade, that's lightweight, well-ventilated, and looking good no matter your riding style.
